July 25, 2007FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:For More InformationContact:Nikki Young, Publicity, PrimaDonna Productions Nikki Young, Publicity, nikki@primadonnaproductions.comnikki@primadonnaproductions.comor 210.822.3552 or 210.573.6091Mi Casa es Tu Cassa?San Antonio – History is being made. For the first time in San Antonio, Classical and Contemporary Musical Development will come together, in harmony, under the same roof: the Creative Arts Studio of San Antonio (CASSA) is born!To celebrate this historic occasion, the founders, Alexis Anthony and Sarah Thompson will host a relaxing and melodic ‘Open House’ on Saturday, September 1 from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. The grand opening festivities will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a performance by CASSA’s gifted students, an informative Q&A with staff instructors, a facility tour, and free demonstrations of this unique learning methodology. A harmonious combination of delicious yet eclectic refreshments will also be served. A drawing will present an opportunity for several guests to walk away with complimentary music lessons to round out the day’s events. What started out as a conversation between talented performers over coffee a scant year ago has lead to the creation of CASSA, the Creative Arts Studio of San Antonio, a learning environment created to feel more like a like home than a school. From classical piano to pop singing, CASSA will provide instruction for students ages five to seventy in a non-traditional setting.
The red rock-n-roll velour couches and modern décor makes people feel they are learning in an artist’s living room rather than a traditional performing arts school. According to Anthony, “since this is our ‘CASSA’, we want our students to feel comfortable when they walk in, we want them to feel like it is their house too; when students relax, they perform better.” Thompson concurs, “Our one-on-one instruction suites will provide our students with a lot more privacy and focus, versus in-store instruction at local and national retail outlets.” Anthony – a long time music educator and a professional performance artist both live and on screen; her most popular hits, Love Fell and I Forgot were featured in the locally produced film, Sandwich. Thompson – who has studied classical music for over 20 years – has her degree in Classical Music Performance, and has been teaching all ages since 1995. The new Creative Arts Studio of San Antonio which is located at 11107 Wurzbach Road, Suite 307 will offer voice, guitar, piano, songwriting, composition, music theory, trumpet and flute. Operating under the understanding of life’s busy schedules, the school offers classes and short term workshops six days a week. CASSA will provide annual scholarships to deserving music students who apply. It is just past the intersection of Vance Jackson and Wurzbach and is part of the cottages of One Elm Place in Suite 307.
