3. Could you tell me more about what kinds of classes you teach and your background?

Lauren Hime recieved her Masters of Arts and Teaching in Music Education from Trinity University in 2005. She is currently in her second year of teaching music at Glenoaks Elementary in Northside ISD where she sees kindergarten through 5th grade every day.

She is certified in levels I and II of Orff Schulwerk and loves using it in her classroom! She also enjoys rehearsing her 4th and 5th grade choir and exposing her students to great music!

Lauren is a classically trained flautist with 15 years of experience. She has also doubled on Alto, Tenor, and Baritone saxophone while participating in several acclaimed jazz bands for over 7 years. She also sings jazz professionally with Spank Sinatra and the Bon Vivants.

Lauren's teaching philosophy rests on fundamentals, and their mastery. To succeed musically one must have a broad and solid musical foundation.

She believes every student should have knowledge of music reading, theory, and composition in addition to practice and performance. Mixing these elements together creates a holisic education that propels each student toward musical sucess! She believes in the process of learning, and loves having fun with her students.

-Music Theory: Beginning through Advanced

-Flute: beginning through advanced (UIL preparation lessons also available)

-Alto, Tenor, or Baritone Saxophone: Beginning to intermediate

-Voice: Beginning to intermediate, Classical and Jazz

-Piano: Beginning

5. What are your rates?
$35 per half-hour lesson

$50 per hour lesson

CASSA offers a discount if you sign up for lessons monthly. The monthly rate for a half-hour lesson is $110 and for an hour lesson it is $180.

CASSA also offers a referral fee discount, if you refer a new student you will receive 2 free lessons! We accept payment in the form of cash, money order or personal check, or PayPal.
